Do I need a boat license to rent a motor boat?

Possession of a boat license is not required to rent a motor boat. A rental boat safety checklist will be completed with all renters that do not possess a boat operators proficiency card as per transport Canada guidelines. There is no additional cost for the rental checklist.

Are life jackets provided?

All required safety equipment is provided with each of our boats and is included in the price. This includes lifejacket, safety kit, and anchor/paddles depending on the boat.

How do you charge for fuel?

The first tank of gas is included in fishing boat rentals. Any additional gas required after the first full tank will be payable by the renter.

For Pontoons, the boat is rented to the customer with a full tank of gas. Upon return staff fill the boat back up and the customer is charged for the required fuel. This is repeated each and every rental to ensure customers only pay for their gas usage.

Do I need a fishing license?

If you are between the ages of 18-65 and plan to fish, then yes you require a fishing license. Licenses may be purchased at Port Perry Marina for your convenience.

Who can drive the boat?

The driver must be over 19 years of age with photo ID to drive the boat. The driver must have a Visa/Mastercard to complete the booking and contract

Can I pre-book my rental?

Yes, we take reservations for rentals. Please go to our rental page and select the boat you are looking for, and click “Reserve Now” and follow the instructions.

What is a time slot?

Time slots are the available options for renting a boat. The start and end times are unique for each boat type. Please see the rental page for the specific boat you are looking for to see the time slots offered.

How long can I rent the boat for?

Rentals are for 3 hours, 7 hours or 11 hours. Contact us for overnight rentals.

What are your hours on holidays?

During holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, and Labour Day) the marina operates on full weekend hours as well as weekend/holiday rates.

Can I rent any boat including kayaks or canoes if I am under 19?

No, a renter needs to be over 19 years old in order to sign the rental contract
