Do I need a boat license to rent a motor boat?

Possession of a boat license is not required to rent a motor boat. A rental boat safety checklist will be completed with all renters that do not possess a boat operators proficiency card as per transport Canada guidelines. There is no additional cost for the rental checklist.

Are lifejackets provided?

All required safety equipment is provided with each of our boats and is included in the price. This includes lifejacket, safety kit, and anchor/paddles depending on the boat.

How do you charge for fuel?

The boat is rented to the customer with a full tank of gas. Upon return staff fill the boat back up and the customer is charged for the required fuel. This is repeated each and every rental to ensure customers only pay for their gas usage.

Do I need a fishing license?

If you are between the ages of 18-65 and plan to fish, then yes you require a fishing license. Licenses may be purchased at Port Perry Marina for your convenience.

What is a day rental?

Our day rentals are the following:

Rent boat before noon return by 5pm

Rent boat after noon return by 8pm

Subject to change during spring and fall hours.

Do I have to specify the number of hours before renting?

No, minimum rental charge is 1 hour after that prorated hourly billing occurs until either the day rate is reached or the boat is returned.

What are your hours on holidays?

During holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic holiday, and Labour Day) the marina operates on full weekend hours as well as weekend/holiday rates.
