Frequently Asked Questions Rentals

Do I need a boat license to rent a motor boat?

Possession of a boat license is not required to rent a motor boat. A rental boat safety checklist will be completed with all renters that do not possess a boat operators proficiency card as per transport Canada guidelines. There is no additional cost for the rental checklist.

Are lifejackets provided?

All required safety equipment is provided with each of our boats and is included in the price. This includes lifejacket, safety kit, and anchor/paddles depending on the boat.

How do you charge for fuel?

Gas is included in fishing boat rentals. For Pontoons and Runabouts, the boat is rented to the customer with a full tank of gas. Upon return staff fill the boat back up and the customer is charged for the required fuel. This is repeated each and every rental to ensure customers only pay for their gas usage.

Time slots are the available options for renting a boat. The start and end times are unique for each boat type. Please see the rental page for the specific boat you are looking for to see the time slots offered.

What is a consecutive time slot (Or what is 2x3h)?

2x3hr or 3x3hr means you are wanting consecutive time slots. A consecutive time slot is 2 or more time slots directly after each other on the same day. For example, if you took the first and second time slots, you are able to keep the boat from the start of the first timeslot until the end of the second time slot for a discounted price.

The discount does not apply if you take the first and last time slots of the day, only if you take 2 or more in a row.

During holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic holiday, and Labour Day) the marina operates on full weekend hours as well as weekend/holiday rates.
